After T’Challa’s father's death T’Chaka, T’Challa decides to return Wakanda. After he returns Wakanda, he and the leader of Dora Milaje Okoye take T’Challa’s ex-girlfriend Nakia out from an undercover mission in order to attend his crowning ceremony with his mom named Ramonda and his younger sister Shuri. While the ceremony starts, the leader of Jabari Tribe named M’Baku to challenge him for the crown to fight in a custom contest. T’Challa beats M’Baku, but saves M’Baku instead to kill him.

On the other side, in the London museum, Klaue and his conspirator Eric Stevens Steal a Wakandan artifact. W’Kabi who is a lover of Okoye requests T’Challa, to bring Klaue back alive. Then, T’Challa, Okoye, and Nakia went to Busan, South Korea in order to bring him alive, where he plans to sell that artifact to CIA agent Ross. When a firefight appears, Klaue tried to run but caught by T’Challa. He decides to give Klaue’s custody to Ross. Ross got injured while protecting Nakia in the attack, rather than seek Klaue. T’Challa takes Ross to Wakanda, where he could be saved. Now, Shuri is treating Ross.

T’Challa asked Zuri (who was an undercover Wakandan) about N’Jobu (brother of T’Chaka). Zuri tells him that N’Jobu plans to share Wakanda’s technology with the people of African to the world. T’Chaka arrested N’Jobu, N’Jobu attacks Zuri. Forcefully T’Chaka kills N’Jobu, and ordered him to lie about N’Jobu that he is disappeared and left behind his son. The adoption name of N’Jobu’s son is Killmonger, and he grows as Eric Stevens.

Killmonger kills Klaue and takes his body to Wakanda. Also, he reveals his identity as a son of N’Jobu, to the tribal elders and challenges T’Challa to fight in custom contest. Killmonger defeats T’Challa and throws him to the waterfall.
