The movie is made in continuation as a sequal of the movie "Before Sunrise" released in 1995. The story continues as Celine and Jesse meet 9 years after the meeting of Vienna in Paris and spend an afternoon together.

Flashbacks make them remember the time of their last meeting. Three journalists are there for an interview of Jesse. One of the three convinces him that the characters of the book meet again in paris, while one of them is unable to. The third one is doubtful about what is going to happen. While having conversation with the audience, he is looking towards Celine and passing a smile continuously, since he met her after 9 long years.

Jesse is reminded by bookstore keeper that he had a flight and he had to leave within half an hour. The time constraints are again applied to their meeting. They start having deep conversations, similar to that night.

Approaching towards their feelings, remebering the failure of plan of meeting after 6 months. Jesse tells that he didn't came Vienna after Celine gives a reason of not coming back, but later he accepts that he came. And, since they had no contact with each other, they couldn't get updates.

They share the changes that have come in their lives, Celine is now an advocate, and her boyfriend is a journalist. Jesse married and Hank is his son. They are quite dissatisfied with what they have while roaming in Paris. Jeese reveals that he had written the book in the hope to see her again. This meeting brought some pain again at the moment.

They come to Celine's apartment and Jesse insists her to play a waltz on guitar. Jesse knew that this would make him miss his flight. They dance on the song Just in Time. Celine repeating "Baby... you are gonna miss that plane." while Jesse had a smile on his face and he says, "I know.
