Pethe began her acting career from her college days by participating in various inter-collegiate play competitions like Purshottam Karandak & Firodiya Karandak. She is one of the founder-members of a Pune-based play group called, 'Natak Company'.
Pethe mainly has performed in experimental plays. She has acted for plays organised by Mohit Takalkar's Aasakta Kalamanch. The play, 'Satyashodhak' directed by her father, a noted director in the experimental plays circuit- Atul Pethe; became the turning point in her acting career. Her portrayal of Savitribai Phule was widely acknowledged and praised.
Along with performing plays for 'Natak Company', she also played minor roles in films. Ek Cup Chya was her debut film. She was also a part of the critically acclaimed film Vihir which released in the same year.
In 2013, Pethe acted in a short film, 'Kaatal' alongside Alok Rajwade & Siddharth Menon. The film won the National Award for the Best Non-Feature Film that year.
