Musskan Sethi was born and raised in New Delhi. She did her schooling at GD Goenka Public School,Vasant Kunj,New Delhi. After high school she did a diploma in interior design from Pratt Institute, New York and later did her under graduation in bachelors of mass media from school of broadcasting and communication ,Mumbai.

Musskan in her schooling & college days was a very active girl both in academics and extra cultural activities. Since childhood she had the passion for acting. Musskan Sethi always stood first when it came to participating in cultural activities like plays, dance competition etc,and won many prizes too during her school and college days. From her childhood, whenever she saw a movie she used to rehearse the scenes from those films standing in front of mirror and also scenes from famous films to keep her zeal going within her.

While she was doing her undergrad in BMM, she did many commercials, Tvc's, short films, music videos. She became a famous model in Mumbai. She did a few ramp shows, modelling assignments, print ads and television advertisements for big & famous brands.^{[citation needed]}

Director Puri Jagannadh was looking out to cast a new face in Paisa Vasool. Musskan Sethi was called in for an audition and look test, director Puri Jagannadh was very much impressed with her and immediately roped her in his film Paisa Vasool as a main lead opposite to Nandamuri Bala Krishna.
