Dhanya Balakrishna is an Born (6 August 1986) Indian actress who has appeared in Telugu and Tamil films. After making her debut in A. R. Murugadoss's 7aum Arivu (2011) , she has appeared in ventures including Gautham Menon's Neethaane En Ponvasantham (2012), Atlee's Raja Rani (2013) and Srikanth Addala's Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (2013). Dhanya made her movie debut as female lead in Telugu with "Chinni chinni aasa" (2013).

Dhanya Balakrishna is a Tamilian born and raised in Bangalore studied Psychology, Economics and English Literature in her graduation before studying her Masters in Film Studies in Chennai and began her acting career, with performances in theatre, before being signed up to play a supporting role in A. R. Murugadoss's 7aum Arivu (2011), where she played a scientist alongside Suriya and Shruti Haasan. She was next seen in two bilingual projects, portraying supporting roles - Balaji Mohan's Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi (2012) and then Gautham Menon's
