She is born on May 16, 1972 in an Aristocratic Brahmin Family to Shivaram Iyyer and Rajamani ammal at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Her father is from Palakkad settled Tamil Iyyer family and mother is from Saurashtra Brahmin From Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. She has a younger Brother ,Rohith Kumar(Engineer Abroad). She did her studies in Presentation Convent,Church Park then known as Sacred Heart Matriculation School. She had her primary education till 10th grade after that she couldn't complete her studies since she became busy with movies by then. She learned classical dance from Dhananjayans.

She is married to Film ProducerVasudevan, a Malayali from Gujarat , on 14 April 2001. He is doing garment business. After marriage she retired from film industry and settled at Gujarat for 15 years. The couple has a son, Vishwajith. They are currently residing at Chennai. Bhagyasri Visited so many foreign countries with Her Husband. Like UK., U.S.A, Australia, South Africa, Middle East etc.
