One of the most beautiful faces of Bollywood, Sonam Kapoor is the daughter of Anil Kapoor and the granddaughter of filmmaker Surinder Kapoor. Before venturing into films, Sonam Kapoor worked as an assistant under Sanjay Leela Bhansali. While assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Black, Sonam learned a lot about acting and film making.

Sonam’s acting debut came with Bhansali's mega film, Saawariya alongside newcomer Ranbir Kapoor. The film failed to do well at the box office but Sonam's performance received good response. In 2009, Kapoor appeared in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi-6 opposite Abhishek Bachchan. The film received mix reviews but Sonam's performance was highly praised. Sonam would soon be seen in David Dhawan's comedy film Come On Pappu, in which she is paired with Akshay Kumar.
