Sanjay Leela Bhansali Biography of Sanjay Leela Bhansali : Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a highly acclaimed, award winning Indian film director. An alumni of Film and Television Institute of India, he started his Bollywood career as an assistant to Vidhu Vinod Chopra. He assisted in the making of Parinda, 1942 A Love Story and Kareeb. But after being refused to direct Kareeb, he made his directorial debut out side the Vidhu Vinod Camp with Khamoshi: The Musical, a film which won much critical praise but no commercial success. After this came his super successful Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. This film took him to a different league of directors and won him almost every award in the Indian film circuit. His next was Devdas which opened up to be the highest earning film ever in Indian cinema. His next film Black starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee was quoted by Time as 5th of the 10 Best Movies of 2005 worldwide. It received a record breaking 11 Filmfare Awards. After this came Saawariya which failed to live up to the expectations of the audience and the critics. His forthcoming projects are Chenab Gandhi and Guzarish.
