Joanna Noelle Blagden Levesque, professionally known as JoJo is an American R&B singer-songwriter-actress. JoJo started singing at the age of 2 when she imitated nursery rhymes and even music and gospels while listening to her mother. At the age of 7 she was on Bill Cosby’s TV show, soon after which she was invited to the Oprah Winfrey Show for a performance.

JoJo got her first record deal at the age of 6 but declined it as her mother thought she was too young for a music career. She signed her first record deal in 2003 with Blackground Record and started working on her debut album with famous music producers. Her debut single Leave went platinum and made it to number 1 in the Top 40 Mainstream charts when she was only 13. Soon after this came her debut album JoJo which made it to number 4 on US Billboard 200.

Her second album, The High Road era released in 2006 and debut at the number 3 slot on the Billboard 200. She also sang a reply to the Sean Kingston song Beautiful Girls which got leaked on the internet in 2007. Presently, she is working on her next album, All I Want is Everything which is due to be released in 2009. As for her acting career, she has appeared on TV in The Bernie Mac Show, American Dreams, RV and Hannah Montana. Some of the awards she has won are Boston Music Award for National Female of the Year, a Young Hollywood Award for Breakthrough Performance and a Yahoo Music Award.
