Hailing from a family that has a strong background in art and academics, Himali inherits music from her grandfather, her mother and her maternal grandmother. She started getting formal training in Indian classical (vocal) music at the tender age of four.

She holds a Sangeet Vishaarad degree in Indian classical music with Distinction. She is trained in both Mewati and Benaras Gharana for over 20 years. She is a winner of Pt. Omkarnath Thakur Classical Music Competition held by Gujarat Sangeet Natak Academy in both junior and senior categories. She is also a winner of several state level competitions of light vocal and film music held by institutes like Gujarati Sugam Sangeet Foundation, Karnavati  club talent hunt, Millenium club performance champ and FM Radio channels like Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM and 93.5 Red FM.

She represented Gujarat University at west-zone in the inter-zonal youth festival for classical vocal (solo) category in November, 2008, 2009 and 2010. She received Shreshtha Kala Saadhak of the Year award by Gujarat Sangeet Natak Academy in the year 2009. She also received Sangeet Ratna award by the Honourable Governor of Gujarat and the Government of Gujarat in the year 2009.

She has given the performances of Indian light music with several great artists of Gujarati sugam sangeet like Shri Purushottam Upadhyaya, Shri Nainesh Jani, Shri Gaurang Vyas et al.

She has given solo performances at various music clubs and music festivals like :-

• Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit (in the year 2007 and 2009),
• Vibrant Navratri  held by the Government of Gujarat(from 2008 to present)
• Samanvaya Sangeet Samaroh,
• Tana-Riri Music Festival held by the Government of Gujarat

• St. Xavier’s College Cultural Festivals (2005 to 2008)
• Spandan (Vapi)
• National Book Fair (Ahmedabad - 2012 and 2013)
• Swar-Gurjari concert at Ahmedabad Doordarshan,
• Concerts held by Gujarat Sangeet Natak Academy and Gujarati Saahitya Parishad and also at myriad illustrious musical clubs like Swarsetu (Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Aanand, Mumbai), Vishvakosh Trust (Ahmedabad), Shivranjani (Ahmedabad and Rajkot), Kala-Gurjari (Gandhinagar), Kalayatan (Valsaad), Farmayish, Sur-aangan, Stars club, Garima (Vadodara), Swajan and Tarbatar (Surat), Lion’s club (Vapi), Surili-Saanj (Bhavnagar), Devotional music performances at Shri Shivanand Ashram and Divya Jyot Foundation.
