Richard Dafydd Vivian Llewellyn Lloyd was born on December 8, 1906 in Hendon in Middlesex. He was Welsh. He wrote under the pseudonym of Richard Llewellyn. He lived a peripatetic life; he switched professions, working as a coal miner, soldier, journalist, and writing books and plays. He authored How Green was my Valley, None but the Lonely Heart, A Few Flowers for Shiner, A Flame for Doubting Thomas, Sweet Witch, Mr. Hamish Gleave, The Flame of Hercules, Warden of the Smoke and Bells, Chez Pavan, Up into the Singing Mountain, A Man in a Mirror, Sweet Morn of Judas\' Day, Down Where the Moon is Small, Bride of Israel My Love, At Sunrise, the Rough Music, Tell Me Now and Again, A Night of Bright Stars, and I Stand on a Quiet Shore. He authored End of the Rug, But We Didn\'t Get the Fox, White Horse to Banbury Cross, and The Night is a Child under the Edmund Trothe Series.
Llewellyn settled down in Israel and died in 1983.
