Nadeem Aslam is a British-Pakistani author. He currently lives in London. He has authored Season of the Rainbirds, Maps for Lost Lovers, The Wasted Vigil, and Leila in the Wilderness. He was born in Gujranwala in Pakistan. When he was 14, he and his family moved to England as his father was a communist and had to flee President Zia’s regime. He attended the University of Manchester where he studied Biochemistry. It was during this time that he decided to become a writer.
