Mitchell David "Mitch" Albom is an American author best known for his best-selling non-fiction book Tuesdays for Morrie. He is also a screenwriter, journalist, musician and a dramatist.

Sports writing was the highlight of Albom\'s early career, and his first books were anthologies. The first complete book he wrote was the 1989 co-written - Bo: Life, Laughs, and the Lessons of a College Football Legend, this was the autobiography of football coach Bo Schembechler.There were another book on basketball in 1994.

Albom came to know through his friend in 1995 that his former professor Morrie Schwartz was dying from terminal disease. Ridden with guilt for not keeping contact. Albom started visiting Morrie on Tuesdays and the duo ended up discussing life and death.Albom, wanting to pay off Morrie\'s medical bills, decided to publish a book on their meetings. After several rejections, the book was finally published by Doubleday in 1997, post Morrie\'s death. The book\'s unprecedented success meant that Albom was finally able to pay off Morrie\'s medical bills. Tuesdays with Morrie has since been translated in 41 languages and has sold over 14 million copies.

Albom\'s next was the 2003 work of fiction The Five People You Meet in Heaven, the story of an wounded war veteran who dies savingf a little girl and wakes up in afterlife.  His subequent books have been For One More Day (2006),  Have a Little Faith: A True Story (2009)  and The Time Keeper (2012).
