Haider Qureshi was born Qureshi Ghulam Haider Arshad on January 13, 1952 in Chenab Nagar, Punjab of present day Pakistan. He is a well-known Pakistani Urdu poet, writer and journalist. He wrote his first romantic story after finishing secondary education in 1968. Later, he obtained his Master of Arts (M.A.) in Urdu literature in the year 1976. He has contributed five publications based on anthologies of ghazal, nazm and mahiya which established him as a prolific writer living in Germany. Some of his work includes Poetry Umr-e-Lahaasil Ka Haasil (The Outcome of Futile Life), Sulgate Khaab - Tajdeed Ishaat Ghar Lahore, Islamabad, Pakistan, Umr-e-Gurezaan - Tajdeed Ishaat Ghar Lahore, Mohabbat ke Phool - Nayab Publications Lahore, Ghazalien, Nazmein, Mahiye - Sarwar Adabi academy, Germany; Roshani ki Bisharat - Tajdeed Ishaat Ghar Lahore, Afsaane – Mayaar, Atmi Jang, Main Intezaar kerta hoon, Meri Mohabbatein – Mayaar and Soo-e-Hejaaz - Mayaar.
