H.g. Wells Biography of H.g. Wells :

Herbert George Wells or HG Wells was an English writer whose writings have been categorized under the science fiction genre. His most-famous books (both fiction and non-fiction) are The War of the Worlds, The Time Machine, The Invisible Man, The Island of Doctor Moreau, Tono-Bungay, The History of Mr Polly, When the Sleeper Wakes, The First Men in the Moon, The Outline of History, A Short History of the World, The Science of Life, The Work, Wealth and Happiness of Mankind, A Modern Utopia, The Shape of Things to Come, The Autocracy of Mr Parham, The Holy Terror, Men Like Gods, and The Sleeper Awakes. He was born in 1866 at Bromley in Kent, England. He attended Thomas Morley\'s Commercial Academy and the Normal School of Science (now part of Imperial College London). He studied Biology. He received a B.Sc in Zoology from the University of London External Programme.

 

Wells illustrated his thoughts and ideas via sketches. His earlier writings were termed as ‘scientific romances’. He is also referred to as the ‘Father of Science Fiction’ along with Jules Verne and Hugo Gernsback. He died in 1946.
