Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald popularly known as F. Scott Fitzgerald was an American author whose writings are reflective of the Jazz Age, a term that he created. His novels include This Side of Paradise, The Beautiful and Damned, The Great Gatsby, Tender Is the Night, and The Last Tycoon. His other writings include Flappers and Philosophers, Tales of the Jazz Age, All the Sad Young Men, Taps at Reveille, Afternoon of an Author, Babylon Revisited and Other Stories, The Pat Hobby Stories, The Basil and Josephine Stories, The Price Was High: Fifty Uncollected Stories, The Short Stories of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Bernice Bobs Her Hair, Head and Shoulders, The Ice Palace, The Offshore Pirate, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Diamond as Big as the Ritz, Winter Dreams, The Baby Party, The Freshest Boy, The Bridal Party, A New Leaf, Babylon Revisited, Crazy Sunday, The Vegetable, or From President to Postman, and The Crack-Up.

Fitzgerald was born in 1896 in Saint Paul, Minnesota in the U.S. to an upper middle-class Catholic family. He attended Newman School and Princeton University. He enlisted in the U.S. army after Princeton. He traveled across Europe and spent a considerable amount of time in the French Riviera and Paris. He was friends with Ernest Hemmingway. He died before he could complete The Love of the Last Tycoon.
