Bob Dylan is a legendary song writer, writer, singer, and musician. He was born in Minnesota as Robert Allen Zimmerman. He attended the University of Minnesota. It was the time when he immersed himself into folk music and he was inspired by the poetry of Dylan Thomas and the music of Woody Guthrie. He began to perform at clubs in Greenwich Village. He also became friends with other folk singers and groups such as Dave Van Ronk, Fred Neil, Odetta, the New Lost City Ramblers, and Irish musicians Tommy Makem and the Clancy Brothers.

Dylan made his first trip to the U.K in 1962. He featured in a drama, The Madhouse on Castle Street on the BBC directed by Philip Saville. He performed at some London folk clubs such as Les Cousins, The Pinder of Wakefield, and Bunjies. His song, Blowin in the Wind became immensely popular. He became an established singer and song writer with his album, The Freewheelin\' Bob Dylan. He was a member of the Civil Rights Movement.

Dylan has also authored Chronicles - Volume 1; it is an autobiography. He has also written Tarantula which is an experimental novel is written in the style of Jack Kerouac.
