Abul Khair Kashfi is a widely acclaimed Urdu author, researcher, critic, linguist and scholar. He was born in Kanpur in 1931. Kashfi did his graduation and post-graduation in Urdu from the University of Karachi in 1952 and 1971. Some of his major literary work include Hayat-e-Muhammadi - Quran-e-Majeed Ke Aaine Mayn (“The Life of Muhammad in the Mirror of the Qur’an”), Dada Bhai Foundation Karachi, Urdu Sha’iri Ka Siyasi Aur Tarikhi Pasmanzar, Hamare Ahed Ka Adab Aur Adeeb, Qamar Kitab Ghar, Jadeed Urdu Adab Ke Do Tanqecdi Jaezay, Hamare Adabi Aur Lisani Masail, Yeh Log Bhi Ghazab Thay and Ghalib Ki Cheh Ghazlen. He was honored with many awards for his poetry and literary work.
